Name: Clay Puppington

Overview: The mayor of Moralton, Clay is a bitter, unhappy man who keeps up the facade of an affable, Christian 50's dad. He's responsible for accidentally killing his over-nurturing mother, resulting in his father neglecting him. After being trapped in a loveless marriage and falling into alcoholism, years of frustration took its toll. He's self-loathing and self-destructive, but there was a point when he tried his hardest to do well with his son, Orel. He gave up along the way, burned out from his "stinking, dead end job (as his town's mayor)", becoming desperate for any ounce of affection outside his family.

When not in his self-destructive phase, Clay can be a pleasant, upbeat, though idiotic and ignorant man, prone to bumbling and giving others terrible, hypocritical advice based on his own poor understanding of his faith. He's the complete antithesis of "Father Knows Best".

Motivation: Since I'll be taking him from after the Beforel Orel movie, where he was considerably milder than in present day, he would be willing to kill to see his family again (if only because he doesn't know how to live any other way). If pressed hard enough, he would be willing to kill for booze.

But on the whole, as long as he's killing Communists, he'd be okay with it because "they're not really people" and they're excluded from the 4th commandment. He'll find ways to convince himself that it wasn't his fault.
Powers: No powers, but he can use a gun. He's not terrible with it either.

Warnings: Yeah, I'll say right off the bat that Clay is not a good man. He has misogynistic thoughts which stem from a whole host of Freudian issues, but I'll be toning that down generally. Tell me if you aren't comfortable with this, please, and I'm perfectly fine with Clay being called out when he does something dickish.

He's an ignorant, hypocritical man overall, and he's from a fundamentalist Christian community. As much as he might make a fool of himself, please tell me if you'd feel uncomfortable and we can work something for sure.
